Serve Him Sunday!

These 4 Things could be blocking your success!

Do you get so close to success you could almost touch it, and then boom just like that you’re back doing what you’ve always done and success seems like a million miles away? You are not alone; most of us don’t recognize the culprits behind our digression, and you could you be doing these 4 success blockers without even realizing it….

Comparison– There is nothing worse than comparing your goals and dreams to others. You are unique to you and there is no one who can do what you were born to do. Constantly watching what others think and do can cause a sense of jealousy, bitterness, and steal your joy. Stay focused on what it is you should be doing and don’t compare. What you have to offer is important and others need it!

Emotions– Emotions are a wonderful tool to help guide us and protect us, but they were never meant to be the only source of how we make decisions. One of the biggest missteps towards success is to make choices and set goals based on how you feel. Feelings are fleeting and situational. Remember, the emotion will follow the action. You must take action based on your goals not necessarily on how you feel. Sometimes you will need to do what you don’t feel like doing in order to get where you are meant to go. Success requires you to be uncomfortable and disciplined, neither of which will feel great at the time, but they both will pay off when practiced.

Patience– Let’s face it, you want what you want when you want it, right? Success takes time (sometimes a very long time). It takes perseverance and dedication. We live in such an instant gratification world, and it is creating this sense of urgency disabling our ability to be patient. To be successful, you will need to practice patience. The good news is patience is a behavior, and the more you practice being patient, the more patient you will become.

Procrastination– Putting off today what you can do tomorrow will bite you in the behind every time. Do what you need to do now to get the result you want. A great way to kick procrastination to the curb is by starting every day getting the one task on your to do list finished first before anything else. If you get the hardest part of your day over with, the rest will be so much easier.

If you are going to be successful, it will require something you are doing now to change. There is no goal accomplished without a change taking place. Begin today mastering change one small behavior at a time. Join me in living a life decided!
